Internships

The Ladder Program students work full time (minimum 455 hours over the course of 13 weeks) in the entertainment industry in addition to attending weekly classes, completing class assignments and participating in the Guest Speaker Series and class trips.

Students work with The Ladder Program to find their own internships. A few months before the start of the Fall Semester, each student meets personally with the Executive Director, Heidi Heller Banks, to discuss career aspirations and goals. Based on that conversation, the Executive Director and student create a list of target companies for the student to contact.

More times than not, there is a The Ladder Program personal contact at the target company, making it much easier for the student to secure a highly desirable internship. In Hollywood, it is who you know! Being a part of The Ladder Program gives you privileged access to a far-reaching network of contacts.

The Ladder Program is based on each student successfully completing one internship. It is our belief that the student is best served by focusing on one work environment. In very rare situations, an intern has split their time in Los Angeles between two internships. Working two internships is only possible with prior written approval by the Executive Director.
